Why the free tier is actually free.
Free isn't a trial. It's the architecture. Your vault lives encrypted on your device — we have no servers to bill for, no data to store, no per-user cost to absorb. Most families never need anything beyond the free tier.
Paid tiers exist because cloud document storage, email delivery, and real-time chat all carry per-user infrastructure cost. We charge for those features only because they cost us money to provide. Everything else stays free, forever.
